New Video – Don’t Look Back

One of the big mistakes that believers, and people in general, make is trying to hold on to things (people, places, events) that God has delivered them from. There is a time and a season for everything. When those seasons are over, they are meant to remain that way.

When God gets you out of a bad relationship or situation, it is not merited for you to reopen it or go back to you. The woman who looked back at Sodom and Gomorrah was turned into a pillar of salt for being disobedient and looking back.

That doesn’t mean that you must forget anything. It also doesn’t take anything away from the legacy. You only open the risk to tarnish your memories or the legacy of what was once great, when you try to keep using or returning to it after it is meant to be over.

Listen to the message below to hear the blessed Word of God concerning not looking back to situations, or reopening doors, that are already or should be closed.

Feeling the Holy Ghost

kermitchurch
I was online recently, on Facebook, and in one of the groups that I am in, someone posted the above picture.  I could easily become offended, but instead chose to use this type of ignorance as a teaching tool. Christianity is one of, if not THE, most hated and criticized religion in the world.  This is no surprise though, for even the Messiah forewarned us of this:

John 15:20 – “Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.”

We were already warned that we would be persecuted and hated for believing.  That, however, is not the point of this post.  Rather, we want to talk about why the Holy Ghost is not seen outside of church, per this meme.

Actually, the Holy Ghost IS RECEIVED outside of the church! Now, this meme is more likely referring to the display of people dancing around and shouting. While such may be a display of the excitement and power felt during praise in the presence of God, the Holy Spirit is greater and has a larger effect than that.  The primary function of the Holy Ghost is to comfort, teach, and intercede for us.

John 14:26 – But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Romans 8:26 – Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
The aspect of the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues (which edifies the speaker whereas prophecy edifies the church) and resulting in such excitement as though it feels “like fire” shut up in one’s bones is legitimate though. But the idea that the jumping around and praising in the middle of a department store aisle is a little far fetched.  Why does it primarily happen in church?
  1. God inhabits the praises of His people. (Psalm 22:3). People primarily praise and worship in the church building.  It is a place of safety where believers can feel comfortable praising and letting loose spiritually, just like the nightclub is a place where partyers feel comfortable doing their dancing.
  2. There is a time and place for everything. (Ecclesiastes 8:6)  Everything that we do has a purpose and time. And though we pray without ceasing, and are always in the presence of God, in the general marketplace we let our light shine through our behavior and righteousness.  All things should also be done decently and in order.
  3. An ideal place for worship and praise is at the altar. (Psalm 43:4). The altar represents where sacrifices were held, and in the New Covenant, we are called to give the sacrifice of praise. (Hebrews 13:15).
Overall, the meme is a meme for a reason.  Unfortunately though, many people don’t understand the inaccuracy of such things and believe or agree with anything that crosses their path. For the sake of truth, however, the Holy Ghost is felt by believers in all types of settings. I’ve felt the presence of the Holy Ghost in a room by myself during private worship, as do many others. But… to those who don’t KNOW the Spirit, who don’t KNOW God, they would not understand. But for those who do, enjoy the blessings of His presence wherever you are!

How To Let Go

I heard someone say that she wished her loved ones would just forget about the wrong that she had done and move forward.  The idea is a nice idea, that when we do wrong others would forgive and forget.  In fact, the first part of that is simply to forgive.  But, as hard as it may be to forgive, it is even harder to forget.

You will actually often here people say, “I do forgive you, but I will NEVER forget!”

The Word of God often tells us to forgive. In fact, it says in Matthew 18:20-22, “Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”

It also says, “And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.” (Luke 17:4)  So, we can clearly see that forgiveness is essential.  But, let’s get to this business about forgetting.

Forgetting something is the equivalent of something dying out.  Habits, knowledge, ideas, etc., are established by constant repetition of them, and likewise, they end by constant neglect of them.  If you want for people to forget about something, you just discontinue the behaviors that remind them of it.  Likewise, if you want to forget something that someone did to you, you also have to starve it by stop talking about and thinking about it.  (If you want to know how to stop thinking about it, you must learn to catch it at first thought and challenge/rebuke it with a counter thought against it – see 2 Corinthians 10:5)

The more that those reminders are neglected and REMOVED (if it’s a behavior), the more it will start fading from memory until eventually it will be so far in the back of your or their head that it seems weird to even bring it up anymore.  Then, just like in Job 18:16-17, the past “…roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off.  His REMEMBERANCE SHALL PERISH from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street.”

Starve the memory of your past mistakes by eliminating the behaviors that surrounded those mistakes (true repentance), and in doing so, the memory of those mistakes will fade into oblivion.  And then though some people who have no life of their own may still try to bring it up beyond that, it would be so awkward on them because you are so much more different than that mistake once made.

Bless you,

No More Fear

Ice Cube’s song said, “if you’re scared, go to church.” Beyoncé’s song said, “if you’re scared, call that reverend.”

Unfortunately, these days the church is full of fear! It should be a safe haven for those who are afraid, suffering, hurting, sick, depressed, sad, etc. And the church, believe it or not, should be fearless, like ancient Zulu warriors!

Matthew 10:28 – Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Yes, church, you should NEVER be afraid of man!! All men are created equally, and you are just as much of a danger to any man as any man is to you. And even if another person succeeds in killing your body, “we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8)

So yes, it is quite unfortunate that so many reverends, so many priests, so many in the church are so fearful. People of God, you have DEMONS that you have to battle, why in the world are you afraid of fragile humans and their dumb opinions??

Rise up, people of God!!! Stop living in fear: fear of rejection, anger from others, disappointment of others, verbal and physical attacks, and more… You have God (YHWH) on your side and within you!!! Stop being afraid because “in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” (Romans 8:37)

They make fun of the church now being a place for the fearful, as in the church being full of fear. It should be a place for the fearful to find refuge and protection by the FEARLESS body of Christ! So, if people are afraid, let them come to the church. But let the church be bold and fearless enough to welcome them in. No more fear church! No more fear!!!

Meditation Elevation

Stop losing your peace because of things that don’t matter in the first place. Your mind is always so occupied by unfruitful concerns about who is saying what about you, what negative things the future holds, what happened back then, and the mess you’re dealing with right now.

When you are consumed in your mind, so shall your reality be also. Your mind must be freed in order to be free indeed in life. Change your mind, and you change your reality.

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God

Learn to ignore what doesn’t matter. This is a basic principle of meditation. Keep your mind focused on that which is worthwhile, without reaction but just observation, and gain control over the ideas and thoughts you accept and reject.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

2 Corinthians 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Stop being controlled by your thoughts, but learn to master them, and as you master your thoughts from within, you master your life externally.

Stand Strong

Christians, you are coming up in an increasingly hostile environment, where to be Christian is to be ridiculed, insulted, and rejected. The Word said this would happen:

1.John 7:7 – The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil.

Luke 6:22 – Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

They hated Christ because He stands against evil, and because of Him, they hate you. But remain true to your faith and rejoice in it.

There is a growing intolerance, a growing ChristoPHOBIA, and increased bullying towards Christians, and just like any other group or culture, you have the RIGHT to practice your faith without compromise. Call out the intolerance towards you as the bigotry and discrimination that it is! It is not okay for it to be okay to ridicule you. Stand firm in the faith. Be blessed!

Owe Nothing

Romans 13:8 – Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

You don’t owe anyone any explanations about yourself or anything in your life. It’s not their business! If they truly were concerned, they’d simply ask you if you’d like them to pray for you and leave it at that, but because they are vipers posing as caterpillars, wolves posing as sheep, they want to know each and every detail about you and your situation so that they can use it against you at the earliest and most convenient opportunity, often just for the sake of gossip or spite. You don’t own them anything, but to love them!

Likewise, don’t allow yourself to, or keep placing yourself in a situation to, have to constantly owe someone back for something. Leave the debt alone when you can. Learn to save, hustle, or invest until you can obtain. The instant gratification is often not worth the extended burden to keep it. It’s okay to do without it, or find another alternative. Take action to start reducing what you owe to others, because if anything, you owe it to YOURSELF to be able to live freely and unburdened by unnecessary debt.

Either way, take time to understand, learn, and know what you truly need, don’t need, should owe, and should not owe, for when it is all said and done, only love is essential.

Bless you,

Know Where Your Blessings Come From

I sit and I think back to some old hymn and think of some lady in the choir passionately singing, “don’t forget where your blessings come from!”  The way this statement is normally presented leans towards the understanding that “God is blessing you, so don’t forget and become cocky thinking that it is you.”  The danger in this way of thinking is that people automatically assume that if they are getting more money, new job positions, etc., that it is undoubtedly coming from God, and that is the danger.

Just because you got what you feel is a blessing, doesn’t mean that it came from God.  We need to understand that God is not going to bless mess.  God is not going to bless us as we strive for sin, as that would be counter to His very own character.  So if the blessing does not come from God, where does it come from?  You guessed it, Satan.  You don’t believe me?  Let’s look at scripture then, such as when Yeshua (Jesus) was tempted in the wilderness.

Luke 4:5-7 states:  5 The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6 And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. 7 If you worship me, it will all be yours.”

Satan actually went as far as to offer the son of God all power and splendor if He would worship him.  The devil acknowledges that all of that splendor has been given to him to give to whomever he wants, and if he is willing to try and tempt that powerful Christ (who even outranks him in the Spirit realm), how much more is he willing to tempt YOU?

Don’t get me wrong!  God does bless His children.  But, because God is just, He’s not going to bless you for disobedience.  Every blessing God offers is contingent with righteousness, such as in Psalm 5:12, where it states, “Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.”  The key to God’s blessings, however, are that you are righteous, seeking Him, and living according to His ways.

So, if you’re not living for God, and yet and still you are: getting money, getting paid, being surrounded by friends, getting new jobs, etc., you may want to question where that is coming from.  Satan is more than happy and capable, as we see in scripture, of giving you the pleasures of the world for worshiping him.  If your life is full of lying, cheating, stealing, hatred, lust, fornication, hurting the innocent, and all other types of wickedness and yet you are still “balling,” then you can typically rest assured that there is a “god” that is “blessing” you but it’s not the holy one, rather the prince of this world (John 16:11).

On that note, I do implore you, to consider where your blessings come from!  Consider not only so that you will remain humble in the blessings that God give you, but also that you will distinguish from that which is NOT from God.  For if you are being gifted by the enemy, what value of a gift is it but rather a curse.  Everything that glitters is not gold, and everything that you get is not from God.  Be smart, be holy, and be blessed… truly!

No More Foolishness

Proverbs 26:4-5 “Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.”

There are some people who are just so content in their ignorance, hatred, wickedness, self-justification, etc., that the wisest of all statements would mean nothing to them. In such cases, don’t waste your breath in trying to teach, for their pride would not allow them to receive it. It would be wasted value, which is why the Bible tells you to do things like “shake the dust off your feet” for those who reject light, and:

“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.” (Matthew 7:6)

In such, don’t allow such a fool to rile you up in anger and become entangled in dispute, for their ignorance is not worth your peace. Simply keep it moving!

Only in those cases whereas to let the foolish know that you are NOT fooled by their foolery, should you answer them according to it, that they may be humbled, and at least for a moment in you, realize they they can’t always get over on everyone. Chances are, they will then go back and trash talk about you because despite the haughty words, it does burn them that you rejected their ignorance, and their insults then become what soothes them, yet, for you, your peace should remain.

Overall however, let not the foolish drag you into their ignorance, for it is like a raging fire that shall sooner or later consume them; don’t be entangled then, that you shall also get burned. Ignore ignorance, and flee foolishness… it is not WORTH your time!

Progressive Destruction

“The best way to destroy someone is slowly so that they won’t recognize what is happening until it’s too late, and then when the final blow is dealt, they will not be able to defend themselves from it.”  ~Kelvin N. Broadus, from ‘Life Warfare’

When we are going through this life, we must realize that we are not only under constant assault, but that we must also be careful not to constantly support our own destruction.  By all means, when we face an obvious threat and are backed into the corner, we typically will bite, scratch, and claw our way out or give it every effort to escape.  However, what about those times when it isn’t so obvious?

Many times, we are under assault and don’t even know it.  We are even supporting it progressively, and not even aware.  Every negative, meditative thought is a subtle attack on the abundant, at peace life that we are promised by our creator!  This is why the Bible admonishes us in “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” (2 Cor 10:5).  These types of thoughts are sent to us by our enemies, both internally and externally, skillfully orchestrated by the “powers and principalities” that exist to keep us from becoming all that we are destined to become.  And, they are so subtle, that we will often excuse them away from being the progressive, detrimental threat that they truly are, a threat that will ultimately lead to your stagnation and/or destruction.

Know this… the enemy is real!  And, he is a their who “comes only to steal and kill and destroy!” (John 10:10).  This spiritual enemy is after you so “be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8).  Understanding how such an enemy operates will help equip you to overcome, BUT YOU MUST RECOGNIZE the SUBTLE and PROGRESSIVE approach!!

Even an lion in the jungle is progressive.  The lion hides in tall grass watching the groups of prey, and just the same, your enemy is looking at more than just you seeing which if you is easiest to pick off.  It is an intimidation game, and just as the animals being watched feel the tension in the air and don’t recognize the source, people also will feel the danger in the air and excuse it to be paranoia, all the while progressively developing more doubt, fear, and even sabotaging themselves with their own constant negative meditation and negative thought.  This weakens you over time, gradually, and while this lion is still hiding in the grass without you recognizing the mind game being played on you, he waits until you become weak enough… and then… ATTACK!!!

Unfortunately, by then, your faith has become so weak, and you’ve been battered emotionally so long, that you are now helpless to fight it.  This is why it is so very important to constantly pray (without ceasing), FEED your SPIRIT with the Word of God, fellowship with encouraging (COURAGE) people who will help support and empower you, and seek God’s guidance in every situation!

The devils is as a lion, but you don’t have to be the victim.  Stay strong in the faith and faith building connections and activities.  Don’t be the victim.  All of the lion’s prey are not successfully taken, and neither do you have to be!  One major key, however, is to stop the PROGRESSIVE attacks (negative thoughts, words, affiliations, etc.), and this will be your victory, in the name of Yeshua.

Bless you indeed, by the grace of God,

~Prophet Besodeiah
